Kevin Kozak, CPA/CMA

Kevin first got involved with The Speech & Stuttering Institute (SSI) in 2018 volunteering on various fund-raising activities, which quickly grew into a deep appreciation of the important work being done at SSI by the speech clinicians and staff.  In 2021 Kevin was hired part time at SSI to work on a variety of strategic initiatives including implementing a new accounting system, as well he was a regular contributor at the quarterly Board meetings reporting the financial results. Kevin is an accountant (CPA) with over 30 years in accounting, finance, budgeting, project management, and policy development with most of his career at one of Canada’s largest pension plans, and at a major insurance company.

Margit Pukonen, M.H.Sc., Reg. CASLPO

Margit Pukonen directs provincial training programs at The Speech & Stuttering Institute.  She received her Master of Health Science degree in speech-language pathology from the University of Toronto and has worked at The SSI (formerly Speech Foundation of Ontario) since it opened its doors in the 1980s. She has been a front line clinician, managed the clinical programs and has overseen the development and evaluation of new treatment and professional training programs for children with motor speech disorders.  She has participated in research studies and coauthored publications on the subject. She also has  extensive experience running and developing group therapy programs and professional training workshops. Under Margit’s professional leadership we continue to offer our unique brand of excellence in care, education, research, and adaptability to help serve our clients best!
